Blog #7: Hashtags

 What's good y'all. For this post I'm going to be talking about what a hashtag is. To me hashtags are an inclusion of a culture that is put in the hashtag. As it can help people find content similar to it. For example when I type #sneakers on Tiktok I'm going to get videos and posts about sneakers and their culture. A hashtag can also be used to show what community you're apart of or what people that might have similar hobbies or interests as you can see. Hashtags have been a big use on social media as even people in person can say hashtag then say whatever. People used to get upset about how others would use hashtag and put Anything in front of it, as it was first used as a one word thing that could be used as a a part of a community. Like my mom could put "#Tortillas are overrated". Tortillas are great they aren't overrated but you get the point. Hashtags are very helpful for people looking for others that have the same hobbies or love of something as them and it can also be used to spread awareness of diseases or things going on in the world.
